"If" Commentary
In the poem if by Rudyard Kipling he describes how a man should be humble patient rational truthful and dependable also persevering. These trays should apply to both genders though everyone should have these traits. It is as if Rudyard wants people to find goodness even in horrible circumstances. He directed this poem to his son from the selfishness of children to the men to the maturation of adults. He set a bar to everyone on how to persevere. I believe that this poem is a great example. And makes me think that perhaps this makes a human perfect which is not possible . For someone to have these traits mean means that they're perfect in my opinion .
Ain't I a Woman commentary
Sojourner Truth, in that time was a slave who worked hard for her family and kept hope that one day God would relieve her from her sufferings. She stated many times that she did many things that many would consider "manly and fought against sexism. She wasn't born in a delicate life where "a woman " would be helped into carriages nor "over mud puddles", In that society were women were suppressed into the kitchen and low paid jobs. Being an African american was worse than being a woman, so being an African american woman, Sojourner Truth had to go through many obstacles and many hardships. In this poem she shows the clear line of sexism; being a woman meant that your delicate, but to Sojourner women and men are equal. When people used the bible as an excuse for gender roles she would say,"Where did your Christ come from? From God and a woman!". Sojourner Truth comes to me as a strong independent woman, if she was born in an era without slavery then I believe she would have became a strong activist for women's rights.

The extravagant parties, extravagant clothing , the wealth, the mansions, oh and the money. I love this life, my husband is back from the war. I've never met him before, but it doesn't matter, because it's such a happy year. Every year going to parties , going on these beautiful cars. Man how I love my life there's nothing I would trade for I just wish this never stops, make it a never ending dream please.
The Past, Present, and Future
The truth behind everything starts from the beginning. The past informs about the history, where the object began, clues, gives a sort of identity to the object. For example the object, let's say "Tim", Tim wants to know the truth behind a box with an appearance of a medival design. Tim decides to investigate over the box to give the box a sort of identity or have a historical background of it. Now Tim had found out a little bit about the box. The present decides our future, it also shapes the truth in a way. Just as a second has passed there is truth that you had read this. To resume, Tim decides to sell the box, for he had no need to keep such an old object, not knowing that the box had something more significant inside, he sells the box for a lower price than it really is. The future is something predicted; a prediction based on the present and the past. Tim later realised the box was of greater fortune when he saw it in the museum. In the story of Oedipus the King, Oedipus found out the truth connecting the past, present and future. The past being his real birth, present being king and married to his mother, and future being the prophecy that was fortold by a prophet. For Tim he realized the truth when he connected the past, present, and future together. The past can be the representation of the future also, since history repeats itself, so the truth can be found by only looking in the past. The present in Oedipus would be him trying to change the prophecy when he believed Polybus was his father. The present affects the future, in Oedipus case, everything he did was inevitable, it was part of the

Oedipus Rex
The story, Oedipus Rex demonstrates how one cannot run away from their fate or destiny. The prophecy was fulfilled by the son and his father without noticing happening .A priest foretold a prophecy in which Oedipus would kill his father, king Laius, and become betroth to him mother. In order for this prophecy to not come true King Laius sent a slave to kill his son. Turns out his son is alive and was taken by king Polypus. Later Oedipus kills his father, Laius, and solves a famous riddle; Oedipus becomes king and married Jocasta as an extra reward. In unfortunate events Jocasta is his mother. After four years a plague had come across Oedipus kingdom. He had a discussion with his brother-in-law about who could have caused the plague. When Oedipus found out it was because of an unjust murder he begins investigating it. When Oedipus found out that the prophecy came true, and he was the one who killed his father, plus married to his mother he stabbed his eyes and Jocasta killed herself, for the burden was too heavy.
This story is to demonstrate that even knowing your fate does not change the fact that it is still your fate. This story makes me think thoroughly in the consequences of Oedipus's actions. It makes makes me pity the fact that Oedipus had to go through that ordeal. It makes me think about what could have happened if Oedipus had listened to the prophecy carefully and paid attention to the predicament he was is in. The dramatic irony can make people have these thought of what if he knew earlier. Knowing everything before the character gives the reader the suspense of how the character would react towards the information. The story showed interesting usage of dramatic irony with this pitiful scenario. Also knowing that there was no way the character could have found out sooner than when he found out. Oedipus was ignorant towards the whole situation who now has to pay the price of his inevitable fate.

Paradox
The purpose of the paradox of Richard Parker was to give Pi's perspective of the story. Because Richard Parker was not real, Pi used him to show his wild side. The names Richard Parker is a human name, but Yann gave that name to the tiger with a purpose, to show that the name is connected to Pi.
Pi the 3 religions to tame his wild side, or tiger, and keep himself under control. When Richard Parker left Pi alone, it was like the animal inside wasn't needed anymore. Pi's name means irrational, so this whole story about the animal story is irrational. Pi's perspective gave readers an insight of pi's train of thought, that we need to believe in something to keep ourselves tamed. Martel gives us the story of Pi and Richard Parker to show us that we have different sides and it's an interdependence type relationship, that we need to rely on one's self, we can't survive being alone. Richard Parker helped Pi survive the ordeal, Richard relied on Pi and Pi relied on Richard.

Was Life of Pi a Work of Magical Realism?
Yes, magical realism is realistic narrative and naturalistic technique, combined with surreal elements of dream or fantasy. In Life Of Pi, Pi tells the Japanese officials the animal story, but they were unable to accept it because it didn't fit the norm. So instead Pi told them the human cannibalism story, showing the two realities, the tiger story and the human.
Obviously the tiger story was fiction, and the human story was real, it isn't realistic that a tiger would just hide away from the human or learn to be cooperative. Unless he was a good trainer, but Pi wasn't a trainer, he just knew facts. The tiger represented Pi's animal side, and how he was able to respect his animal side and use it to survive.

Reader Autobiography
Why do people read? They read for enjoyment, to learn, to retain information. Reading helps increase vocabulary, improve whichever language they are learning, helps lower stress, avoid slightly memory-loss diseases, increase memory, boosts analytical thinking, and many other things. A person is a reader when they think about what they have read, ask questions about it, to be able to enjoy a couple of chapters a day. A person that likes learning new things, someone who wants to increase their knowledge, open minded about new ideas, in my opinion. In other to be a reader, you would need to be able to accept certain things, not necessarily agree with it, but to understand why. Otherwise open minded. In other to be a good reader in my perspective is that the person respects ideas, and is able to hold their argument against a book they have read.
My current favorite author has to be Vladimir Vladimirovich Nabokov, I enjoyed reading Lolita, I like how he was able to create a protagonist who views himself write changing the readers minds using intellectual words, to show that his actions were not horrible. It makes the reader think twice, the reader either thinks that it wasn't the protagonist fault, or it was, and I love how the author was able to create such a brilliant book.
I believe I am a reader, but not a good one. I like reading and learning new things, but I don't believe I pay enough attention when reading to fully comprehend what I read, but I am able to analyze it, or at least explain it. I consider it a part of my identity, reading has gone as far as to help learn new things, to be able to understand peoples works. It has allowed to expand my vocabulary. I learned to read at the early age of 3, I learned how to read by the help of my elementary school teachers, my parents, and myself. I learned by reading books, reviewing the english language till I was able to understand "big girl" language.
I am a passionate reader and at times I feel like I have reader's block. Especially when reading the first page. If the first page does not interest me, I'll probably move on, but if it still bores me and I still read it its probably because its mostly the idea that intrigues me. What I want to do better as a reader is that I want to be to stay interested till I finish the book, to be able to search up the words I don't know. The type of readings I like to read is fiction, and or an occasional non-fiction. I also like romantic. But I mostly like when there is a strong woman in the non-fiction books. The readings that i choose to read are types that i'll educational value things. I don't know what i'm forced to do. I fear writing when they have strong arguments, meaning I have to choose side, and when I do I become a weirdo. This reflection helped me gain ideas of what certain books I would like to read. This process was exhausting though.

Writer Self-Study
Why do people write? It's simple, it is the emotion that comes with it. Writing enables the person ability to express what they feel. Whether they feel sad or happy, writing brings that information into light. It takes creativity in another level, just like drawing.
To become a writer, its not just expressing how you feel, but having story with it. To be explicit, if you were to write just emotions, for example, a diary would be something that you would write all your emotions in, but that wouldn't make you a writer. A writer needs a plot, conclusion, some sort of idea. Anyone can be a writer, they just need to know how to write a good story, with a good plot.
To be a good writer, you would need proper grammar, word choice, and a good plot, but many people have different opinions about it. It is about personal preference. For example, my favorite writer in Jerry Spinelli, and to me he is a good writer. He has proper grammar, good word choice, and an excellent plot, but again for someone else they might believe that he is mediocre.
People who like writing are not necessarily good writers, or people who hate writing might be actually good, I mean you never know, there is 8 billion people in the world. I consider myself a bad writer, but at the same time I like writing. I don't consider it as part of my identity, if I were, it will be like saying that the only way to show my emotions is through writing, and I don't that believe that be true about myself. I learn how to write in pre-K if I can recall, everybody in the USA learns it the same way at the same time, but those who are passionate about it accelerate faster than others.
I'm the type who will be passionate about writing, but only for a short time. The reason for that is that i'll always find something that promotes my interests more. I'm passionate only in making the story as enjoyable as possible, if I felt incompetent then I would just start over. When I start writing I don't stop, and when I do I re-read it to see if it made sense, because when i'm passionate about something, I start moving the story forward, in a way that it makes sense only to me, like an inside joke. What I would like to do better is to think in a different perceptive and ask myself, does this make sense in someone else's point of view? To keep myself in check.
I like to write fiction stories, just make something up and roll with it, even if its something dumb as long as it entertains me in way. I enjoy non-fiction and fiction types of writings, mostly non-fiction, since I can learn something from it. I fear writings that just take long to get to the point, not fear were i start reading and I get scared and run to my mother, but fear as in dislike. It takes my time to read complete utter nonsense just to learn something, why waste time when i can read another book with more information.
While writing this, I was able to reflect on myself, I gained that i'm impatient and that I have short attention span, sometimes. I learned that writing can help you understand what's going around in your head, like typing whatever is on my mind. This process was entertaining.

Better story?
The Snake or The Hat Story?
Which story is believable, which is more interesting?
Obivously it is a hat, but it is more of an amusing story to state that it is a elephant inside a snake. Its impossible for a snake to swallow an elephant, that is so heavy and so big, but hearing about it interest people because they never heard of such thing. The more believable stuff like the hat story is boring, it doesn't have anything, no story, nothing interesting, or questions popping up about the hat. Simply boring.
